Under the Punjab Protection of Women Against Violence Act (PPWVA) 2016, domestic violence encompasses all acts of gender-based violence that result in, or are likely to result in, physical, sexual, psychological, or economic harm. The newly proposed Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill 2025 introduces Section 498D to the Pakistan Penal Code 1860. This amendment strictly prohibits a husband or any other member of the family from evicting a wife and children who are residing in their shared home.
